Michael Schneider (PhD, MSc)

- born 1962
- 1983 to 1990 study of biology (MSc) in Mainz and Heidelberg, Germany
- between 1990 and 1993 doctorate based on research work in Madagascar on control of migrating locusts
- from 1994 to 1999 lecturer for Entomology, Wildlife and Conservation at Bulolo University College and at the Forestry Department, University of Technology in Lae, Papua New Guinea
- 1999 and 2000 research work at Unversityi Mainz on the immune response of insects
- from 2001 to 2005 lecturer for Wildlife and Protected Area Management at the Forestry Department, University Eduardo Mondlane, Maputo , Mozambique
- since 2005 in charge of nature based activities in Hotel Pfeiffermuehle and gives presentations on legal basis of conservation, geology, flora and fauna of the Alps, alien species for Local Colleges, Mountain Rescue and other interested bodies
- visiting scientist at the Institute of Forest Zoology, University of Freiburg and lectures at Institute for International Forestry of University Dresden (2/2007)
- Michael is the author of numerous publications on biodiversity, planning of protected areas, poisonous and venomous animals, forest pests, biological pest control, etc.
He published a comprehensive entomology textbook, a key to the forest insect pests of Papua New Guinea, a database of vertebrates of Mozambique as well as a nature guide to Inhambane Province, Mosambique, for families and children
