A short stroll on a hot summer day takes us to a nearby forest. It is cool and moist in there, the light is dim and it smells like mushrooms. We walk for a while and get to darker places with a denser stand of trees with a thick layer of moss on the floor. Here we rest on the comfortable smooth moss for a while and surely someone brought along some sweets or snacks for all to share. Our rest is also a good opportunity to have a closer look at the forest soil and its dwellers. Did you know the differences between spruce, pine and fir trees? Which coniferous tree is not suitable for a Christmas tree? Which are the dominant tree species of the mountain forest? If you are interested in the answers then you should join us!
