Discover the meadow
The objective of this activity is to search for and identify small animals on a meadow and to relate them to the various storeys of the meadow. The kids are divided into small groups and equipped with insect nets, sample glasses, magnifying glasses, pencil and worksheet. The kids explore the meadow and record each animal group like earthworm, slug, butterfly, grasshopper, beetle, etc. and its respective storey in the meadow: soil, leaves/stem, and flowers. Later symbols for each animal group are attached on a poster with the sketch of a meadow indicating the storey, where the respective animal lives.
